Dedicated to all the fans of Dagon, Cthulhu and company. About a source of inspiration:
The Kurshok are a race of humanoids, in appearance they closely resemble a fishes. Gauzy gills are seen near their cheek-bones. Moreover, their skin is scaly, fingers and toes are webbed, and various fins cover their backs, arms, legs and heads. As I said before, it may sounds wildly, but Kurshok are my favorite fantasy creatures.
Kurshok dwell within a sunken citadel below the City. Eternal darkness and isolation from another races are their punishment for an exorbitant arrogance and pride. They were doomed to live in that way by the Trickster (pagan god). He sent Kurshok city under the ground after an armed conflict with Kurshok King, Gruliac the Great. But their race survived after the earth opened up and swallowed their civilization. Kurshok call it "The Great Fall", because since that time they lost almost all. But the time goes by, each generation replace with another generation; so little by little Kurshok forgot about existence of "Above World", as they call it, and then began perceive it as a legend.
They still live in the ruined vestige of their once-great city and still hate pagans and the Trickster. Such a depressing and dismal decline of whole race. Now about my art:
Kurshok texts refer their Queen Orpetolia, which was a daughter of King Orpet. From this is follows that Kurshok women are exist nevertheless. No one has ever seen them in the game or at the official "Thief" artworks. So, this is my own fantasy.
Inspired by "Thief: Deadly Shadows" game by Ion Storm and Eidos.
